DOMUS & HORTUS ARTIS 2026 Fantaisies pour saxophone

With a chamber concert by leading Slovak saxophonist, pianist, scholar, and collector of historical instruments Ladislav Fančovič, we open the 7th edition of the Chamber Music Festival at the Albrecht House and Garden DOMUS & HORTUS ARTIS 2026. Through works by the founders of the repertoire for the instrument created by Adolphe Sax, as well as contemporary composers, you will have the opportunity to delve into the unique and captivating world of colours, techniques, and poetics of saxophone playing. Joining him are Anhelina Kydora – piano and Janka Macíková – violin.

Jean Baptiste – Singelée (1812 – 1875): Fantasy for baritone saxophone and piano, op. 60 (1858)

Hyacinthe Klosé (1808 – 1880): Fantasy "Daniel" for alto saxophone and piano (1869)

Louis Adolphe Mayeur (1837 – 1894): Fantasy No. 1 for baritone saxophone and piano (1877)

Ervin Schulhoff (1894 – 1942): Hot Sonata for alto saxophone and piano

David DeBoor Canfield (b. 1950): Duo alla Paganini for violin and alto saxophone

Marc Eychenne (b. 1933): Cantilene et dance (1933) for violin, alto saxophone, and piano
