Dear friends of the preservation and development of culture and art,
For several years we have been working to turn the Albrecht family’s house and garden into a public space where classical music, literature, theatre, film, visual art and the social sciences can find a home. We have come a long way — from a ruin to a restored building, from a construction site to a green garden, from difficult moments of helplessness to moments of satisfaction and joy at the changes we have achieved together. A garden full of visitors during our DOMUS & HORTUS ARTIS concerts fills us with encouragement for the final stretch. To date we have invested over €900,000 in the general reconstruction of the house. Roughly one third of the funds came from grants, one third from donations and one third from loans. In the registered fundraiser Restoration of the National Cultural Monument – the Albrecht House 2023/2024 (reg. no. 000-2023-037726) we raised a gross yield of €7,373 (net €7,241.16), which makes it possible to complete the missing pieces of the reconstruction “puzzle”.
Even after the public fundraiser has ended, you can continue to support us through financial donations, in accordance with the association’s statutes. We are seeking your goodwill and contributions to four ongoing sub-projects: the Café, the Museum, the Music Salon – furnishings, and the Coworking space.
We would be grateful if you chose one of the sub-projects closest to your heart — the one you would most like to see completed — and donated whatever amount you can and wish to give. Please choose the amount of your contribution and enter your card details through the secure payment gateway. You can also send your contribution by a separate bank transfer to the association’s account held at TATRA BANKA, IBAN: SK07 1100 0000 0029 2384 9941, SWIFT: TATR SK BX.
You can also contribute by purchasing items from the Shop section. A range of interesting souvenirs related to the Albrecht family awaits you there, as well as artworks donated in support of the house’s restoration by Slovak artists, or created on commission for our association for fundraising purposes. The accounting of the 2023–2024 fundraiser is published in accordance with the provisions of Act No. 162/2014 in the form of a preliminary and a final report on our website www.albrechtforum.com. The preliminary report is available in the following section. The final report will be published by 30 June 2026.
At this point we would also like to thank you for your financial contributions to date, for voting in the Treasures of Slovakia (Poklady Slovenska) competition, which brought us financial support from the VÚB Foundation, and for your support in continuing the general reconstruction of the Albrecht House.
Why donate?
Restoration of historic architecture
Every contribution helps rescue the precious details of the Albrecht House — from its stone portals to its original plasterwork and timber roofs. We are restoring the dignity of a building rooted in the 15th century so it can serve generations to come.
Cultural events and programmes
You support the concerts, lectures, exhibitions and the DOMUS & HORTUS ARTIS festival that bring the house and its garden to life throughout the year. Thanks to you, many of them remain open and affordable to the wider public.
The Albrecht heritage
You help preserve the legacy of the Albrecht family, who turned the house into a legendary centre of Bratislava's musical life. Their collections, instruments and stories will be made accessible in the planned museum and music salon.
Education and community
The house opens its doors to students, researchers and neighbours alike — as a place for workshops, guided tours and coworking. Together we are building a living community around art and history.
In accordance with decision of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic no. SVS-OVS2-2023/037726-002 dated 29 June 2023, the civic association ALBRECHT FORUM conducted a public fundraiser from 3 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, the purpose of which was to finance rescue and revitalisation works on the national cultural monument at Kapitulská 1 in Bratislava — the Albrecht House.
Under the decision, the association was permitted to organise the fundraiser by receiving contributions to the dedicated fundraiser account ALBRECHT FORUM ver. zb. SK57 1100 0000 0029 2589 4965 held at TATRA BANKA from 3 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, and by selling items or selling tickets to events held as part of the fundraiser from 3 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.
A breakdown of the contributions received to the dedicated account and the income from the sale of items is quantified below.
During the period of the fundraiser, the association did not organise any cultural events within the fundraiser at which it would have collected funds through the sale of tickets into the public fundraiser. From 3 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, contributors sent the following gross amounts in EUR directly to the public fundraiser account 2925894965/1100 held at TATRA BANKA, or via the STRIPE payment gateway through which contributions were directed to the public fundraiser account SK57 1100 0000 0029 2589 4965 held at TATRA BANKA. Overview of the gross yield of the fundraiser by method of collection. Sending financial contributions to the dedicated bank account of the fundraiser: €2,791 was sent directly by transfer to the TABA account. €805 was sent to the TABA account via the STRIPE payment gateway (by card). Purchase of items by sending payment to the dedicated bank account of the fundraiser: €3,100 directly by transfer to the TABA account. €677 was remitted to the TABA account via the STRIPE payment gateway (by card). The total gross yield of the fundraiser amounted to €7,373.
The difference between the balance of the dedicated account and the gross yield consists of TABA bank charges, STRIPE fees for directing contributions to the TABA account or for facilitating the cashless purchase of items that Albrecht Forum sold as part of the public fundraiser, and payments of expenses (supplier invoices) for rescue and revitalisation works. These will be precisely quantified in the final report on the conduct of the public fundraiser. These expenses are the only costs associated with conducting the public fundraiser. To the preliminary report we attach: bank statements of the dedicated public fundraiser account.
