PRAGUE SPRING 2026 – OPENING CONCERT LIVE BROADCAST
Where:Dom Albrechtovcov
Come and enjoy the opening concert of Prague Spring 2026 performed by the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Petr Popelka, broadcast live to the Albrecht House at Kapitulská 1 in Bratislava!
The opening concert of Prague Spring 2026 brings together two anniversaries – 100 years since the founding of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, and with 80 years since the establishment of Prague Spring, the festival enters a new decade.
"Má vlast is not about blind nationalism. It is written with a genuine and utterly disarming love for one's homeland," says Petr Popelka, chief conductor and music director of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, with whom he will open this year's Prague Spring.
This festive occasion also marks 100 years since the founding of this distinguished Czech symphonic ensemble, which has written itself into the history of Prague Spring – and into the modern musical history of the Czech Republic – through many bold artistic projects. Petr Popelka, currently one of the most sought-after conductors in the world, will join Karel Ančerl, Václav Neumann, Claudio Abbado, Neeme Järvi, Vladimír Válek, and Krzysztof Penderecki as another exceptional figure to lead this outstanding Czech orchestra at Prague Spring.
