Valerio Losito – Viola d'amore – lecture and presentation

Baroque violin specialist Valerio Losito will introduce both specialist and general audiences in this lecture/presentation to the history and technical characteristics of the viola d'amore, and will present an exceptional instrument of this type by Ferdinand Gagliano from 1775, with which he performs in Trenčín (21 June 2026) and Bratislava (23 June 2026).

The event will also include a performance of the Partita in D by an anonymous (probably German) composer from the early 18th century, and an improvisation on the Baroque dance form "bergamasca" – with Zuzana Meleková (Baroque guitar, Italian type, historical copy c. 1650).

The lecture/presentation will be followed by a discussion.
