The Bow and the Lyre – Six Views on Musical Poetics

The book contains texts by composer, aesthetician, editor and editorial director Vladimír Godár from the years 1980–2000. As the author wrote: "I wanted, amid a hostile reality, to defend certain ideas, attitudes, works, and sometimes the bearers of those ideas, works and attitudes — including my own. Their sum suggests my creative stances during the time of their formation and, although they mostly concern specific topics, they in fact express autocratic ideas and ideals…. I am assembling the attitudes of some members of my generation, which still belongs to the 'most silent' parts of our society."
